Creator Update: 1.5

It has been quite some time since we last gave you an extensive update on everything going on in the Blimp universe so we figured we'd dive into all the minutia here on the Blog.

As some of you know from our social media posts, 2018 sparked a new light on the creative process at Blimp. Since then we have been scripting, storyboarding, and bringing to life a vision 10 years in the making. The Drop is one of the many fruits of that labor. This story takes you deeper into the city of Ft. Grey and examines the greater world outside our beloved Landlord.

In order to help us make this vision a reality we knew we needed a high quality artist with unique style and passion for the story we wanted to tell. Last year that person found us, and changed the course of the Blimp universe forever. We are proud to announce that Martín Carmona is leading pencils and inks on our first graphic novel, The Drop. For the last year Martín has been designing characters, creating storyboards, and penciling/inking pages. If you follow him on Instagram you can see some of the incredible work he has done/is doing!

We are extremely excited to be working with such a talented artist and look forward to showing you more of what he can do. Speaking of looking forward, we are also proud to announce that our current creative team, including the above mentioned Martín Carmona, is also working on projects beyond The Drop. These projects will continue to expand the Blimp universe by introducing more characters with intriguing and epic stories.

One final note, Seize the Day is still happening and more information about it and its release will be coming soon. In the meantime you can see us at the following conventions in September and October.

September 8 - Clandestine Comic Show - Laurel, MD - 10:00am - 3:00pm
September 29 - Philadelphia Comic-Con - Essington, PA - 10:00am - 4:00pm
October 3 - 6 - New York Comic Con - New York, NY

Hopefully we will be posting on here again in the fall with some more earth shattering news but until then, check out our Instagram and Twitter for pictures and updates on all things Blimp and more.

NYCC 2014 Recap

New York Comic Con has once again come and gone. What a weekend it was with over 150,000 people attending over the four days. Blimp was fortunate enough to be there amidst the chaos and at times added to it.

Our free giveaways were gone within a matter of minutes every time we handed them out, no matter which day of the con. The amount of people walking through out the Javits Center was insane. There were times on Friday and Saturday where the concourse between Javits North (Artist Alley) and the main show floor was shoulder to shoulder full of people. So, in an attempt to reach even more people we also slipped cards in some lucky attendees "The Block" Programs.

After spending a couple days recovering from the chaos we are ready to make the big announcement we promised you. This winter our beloved Landlord will return in Seize the Day. Details on this all new three part series will come as we get closer.

Until then, check out our Instagram and Twitter for more pictures from NYCC 14' and updates on this and more.

Creator Update: 1.4

As summer winds down to an abrupt end, we wanted to catch everyone up on the excitement that it has brought and also give you a glimpse of what’s to come.

First, our summer long giveaway will be ending this week. So if you have emailed us and are wondering where your free swag is don’t worry, all packs will be sent out by the end of the week, and they will include some awesome new pins and cards. If you haven’t emailed us, you may still be able to receive one if you contact us by the end of the week (Friday, 8/29/14) before they are sent out.

In addition to our giveaway, the summer also marked Blimps first official convention showing. We had table space at all three local Philadelphia Comic Cons in Essington, Pennsylvania this summer (June 1, July 13, and August 17). Those who came and saw us got free Blimp cards and pins, in addition to an exclusive look at each Landlord series IN PRINT! We are going to continue to be present at more and more cons, whether we have a table or not, and are especially excited for this year’s New York Comic Con on October 9 – 13.

As you all know, our beloved landlord is in a tough spot after the events of Holiday (details of which can be found in the previous creator post). With that being said, the story will continue this fall! More on this as we get closer.

Finally, we wanted to remind everyone that we are still in search of an artist. That being said please share our Artist Wanted post and get the word out. As always, check out our Facebook and follow us on twitter for regular updates on all this and more.

Creator Update: 1.3

As another Monday approaches, we wanted to give you all an update on what’s going on in the world of Blimp.

As you all know, our beloved landlord recently returned in Holiday. Last Sunday we released the third and final page of the series, which followed the events of Collection Day. In Holiday, Mick appears to be moving on from that horrific night in a seemingly routine fashion. However, his routine is totally thrown off when he gets some unexpected news in the third and final page. In addition to this terrible news, we also find out that we are not the only ones interested in Mick. This series left us with more questions than answers, but don’t worry these questions WILL be answered.

With the release of Holiday, we here at Blimp feel like celebrating with another giveaway! This means more free stuff! News on this coming later in the week though, so keep an eye on our Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.

In the coming months, Blimp will be attending several comic cons. In addition to our normal pins we recently piloted a QR-Code display that, upon scanning, takes you right to our blog! (Pictured below). We are excited to continue this into the summer and also have bigger plans for some local cons.

Finally, we wanted to remind everyone that we are still in search of an artist. That being said please share our Artist Wanted post and get the word out. Please remember that we are not looking for a big name hotshot artist (although that would be AWESOME); we are looking for a good comic artist who’s as passionate about the medium as we are. Amateur, professional, it doesn’t matter just email us to get the ball rolling.

As always, check out our Facebook and follow us on twitter for regular updates on all this and more.

Update: Landlord 'Holiday' Release

Since our return back in October, we’ve been telling you guys about the next step for our beloved Landlord. We’ve given you the title of his next adventure and several glimpses of parts I and II, but today we are proud to announce the release dates for all three parts of Holiday. The Landlord will return this April with part I scheduled to drop on April 20, 2014. Parts II and III will then follow on a weekly basis, concluding the first week of May. Thank you all for your continued support, especially those of you who shared what you received in our free giveaway. If you did not participate in our first giveaway back in December, don’t worry we will be having another one soon except this time one of the perks will be an early release of Holiday for those who participate. So stay tuned to our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.
