Creator Update: 1.1

As this weekend comes to an end, I can't help but look back on all the craziness of the past couple weeks. Blimp officially came back, New York Comic Con 2013 came and went, Blimp's artist search was announced, and the Landlord is returning!

Through all this craziness I feel the need to give everyone a little update on the universe and what we know thus far. In Collection Day we are introduced to Mick, a landlord in a run down area of a city that he sees as "dirty in more ways than one." A city that is rotting from the inside not because of fear or terror, but hopelessness. Through out the three pages we see how Mick addresses a common issue in his building, rent. His black and white view of the world makes him stubborn and what some might call a little extreme at times, but he doesn't want to fall into the same trap the rest of the city has. This refusal to give in takes him to a dark place in Collection Day and we are excited to continue his journey through this gray city.

In Holiday we will dive further into Mick's world and see a different side of our gritty and mysterious landlord. This three part series will pick up where we left off in Collection Day and show more of the city and its inhabitants. News of its exact release will be announced in the coming weeks!

Finally, I would just like to thank everyone for the support. Here at Blimp we are excited about where we are going, but these past few weeks have shown us that we are not the only ones. So thanks again to those of you who visit us daily or like/share our posts on Facebook/Twitter.  You guys make what we do a lot easier and we greatly appreciate that.

Every so often we will have these "creator updates" just to give you guys a recap of what's going on in the Blimp universe. As always keep an eye on our FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for regular updates and check back here at the blog for the big news.

Artist Wanted!!

Last week Blimp returned and one of the many announcements was their artist search. This search has a dual purpose. First, to find an artist for stories by Blimps creators, Jason Hulse and Joe Regina. Someone who is; capable and has experience with drawing comic pages from original stories, reliable, and enthusiastic about comics just as much as we are.

One of the benefits of being creator owned is that through out the process style or creativity will not be restricted but encouraged. The Blimp universe is still being shaped and we are looking for someone to take part in its creation and evolution.

The second part of the search is simply for comic book artists and all other creative folk (writers, sculptors, designers, colorists, inkers etc.) who are passionate about the medium.

Blimp is a creator owned and operated comic producer so we are looking for individuals who enjoy comics and have a basic understanding of them. Amateur, professional, doesn’t matter but understand since we are creator owned funds are limited, enjoyment would ideally be payment enough but we understand and are willing to discuss, especially as Blimp grows and our financial situation changes.

Please send samples/portfolios/anything you got, to us at blimpcomics@gmail.com.

Post-NYCC 2013

The four day celebration of comics, games, movies, and all the other things we adore has come to an end. New York Comic Con was incredible, from the insane amount of comic vendors to the exclusive releases, appearances, and announcements the con delivered in every way.

Blimp was fortunate enough to be part of all the excitement and had giveaways through out the weekend. Hopefully you were lucky enough to receive one of the many cards, or "NYCC 2013 Blimp Bags." Those of you who follow us on twitter and instagram got a taste of all the excitement but in case you missed it here's a one picture sum-up for the weekend that was NYCC 2013.

The Landlord Returns

Continuing with the excitement of today, Blimp is proud to announce a new tale in the life of Mick Matthews. Our landlord returns in Holiday, a three part series that follows the harsh and mysterious  events of Collection Day. More on this coming soon so follow us on twitter and check back here for the latest announcements. Whoops, almost forgot...

NYCC 2013

Going to NYCC this year? Be sure to catch Blimp! Creators Jason Hulse and Joe Regina will be at the Javits Center both Friday October 11 and Saturday October 12. We will be handing out cards all weekend and enjoying all that the con has to offer.

No booth...this year, so find us on the floor handing out cards, talking to people, and embarking on the artist search. Oh, and if you get there early enough you could be one of the first to get one of these...

2013: Blimp Returns...again.

Well, we are back….again. This is getting redundant I know, some of you have probably already stopped reading this due to the false promises from last summer, but like a fine wine some things just need time.

This will be a big year for Blimp Comics, a turn of the tide if you will. One thing we have said from the beginning is that we are a comic producer striving to create great stories and great art. Obtaining these standards has been a long and arduous process. A process that has culminated in an aggressive artist search, details of which will be released soon, but if you want to get ahead of the game email us at blimpcomics@gmail.com.
This year also marks the continuation of The Landlord. Creators Jason Hulse and Joe Regina are back at it again with a follow up to Collection Day. Stay tuned for details.

Finally, Blimp will be at New York Comic Con this year (WHICH BEGINS TOMORROW!!). Our presence will be much bigger than in years past so follow us on twitter for the most up to date info.

Also, in case you missed it Blimp revealed on their twitter that www.blimpcomics.com is officially on its way. Be sure to head over to our Facebook and Instagram pages for up to date info on this and all things Blimp.
